Personal Training
Jim’s training is largely focused in the areas of functional movement, postural correction, and weight loss. The combination of over 13 years of therapeutic exercise instruction and programming in a physical therapy setting, coupled with his deep understanding of musculoskeletal structure and function, allows Jim to fill a unique niche in the world of personal training. Through his programming he has helped many people beat chronic pain and recover range of motion and strength that many practitioners predicted would never be recovered. Beginning with basic movements to build the structural and stabilizing muscles of the body, Jim works to establish proper muscle activation and deactivation. This allows for proper body mechanics, and brings improved performance and feeling. Once the basics are covered, it is on to building strength and power through the incorporation of many styles of exercise from classic weight training, to yoga poses and on to traditional martial arts exercises.
