About
Sensei Jim Riley has dedicated his life to the wellbeing and empowerment of others. With the intention of building the healthiest and happiest version of self he uses attention to detail as a Sensei, Massage Therapist and Wellness Coach to work toward this common goal.
As a bodyworker educated at the Swedish Institute he has worked hand in hand and studied with doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors, and energy healers to capture well rounded knowledge and approaches to nourish the physical and energetic bodies. Capable of providing the deepest and most pinpoint work to address acute conditions to the lightest broad gliding strokes to induce deep relaxation, his skills are widely varied.
As a martial artist he has trained primarily in Okinawa GoJo Ryu but practices in other styles to quench his own thirst for knowledge and continual growth and to offer the best and most rounded instruction possible. He has traveled to Okinawa, the birthplace of karate, to train with the living masters and was awarded the rank of Shodan, 1st degree black belt, while under their watch and instruction. Jim currently wears the rank of Sandan, 3rd degree black belt, awarded by Okinawan Master Masaji Taira.
As a wellness and mindfulness coach he centers his work largely around the 8 principles of achieving happiness; Rest Relaxation and Recovery, Exercise, Diet and Nutrition, Time in Nature, Recreation, Spirituality, Contribution and Service to Others, and Relationships. He has well rounded knowledge and experience, and can provide engaging practices to enhance involvement in each of the 8 areas that have been proven to increase happiness.
Both bodywork and martial arts mastery require mindfulness, education, and dedicated practice. To offer and instruct these practices is Jim’s passion in life. With an open mind and kind heart he is a unique practitioner and teacher of his arts and a powerful and influential speaker as a wedding officiant, meditative guide, and friend to all who he works with.
