One Hour Treatments

Light on Your Feet

We often fail to realize how much stress our feet and ankles endure. They carry the load of our entire body all day every day. Proper foot and ankle mobility can reflect up the entire kinetic chain. Taking the time to address the soft tissues of the lower leg can improve every aspect of your body, posture, and athletic performance. Take this hour to get light on your feet.

Quads and Hammies

Some of our most powerful muscle groups. Since the quads and hammies both act on the knee joint and attach to boney structures of the hips tightness here can have significant effects on the knees, hips, and back. Additionally, if one happens to be significantly tighter than the other, the development and function of the other could be hindered. Take this hour to treat your quads and hammies to the balance they’ve been longing for.

All in the Hips

So many of us don’t realize the effect that restriction of the hips does to us. The central point of the body where the weight of our torso is distributed and executes action in every direction. Tightness in the hips is often a result of static position. Whether this means sitting at a desk all day with minimal movement or straining to keep your knees in proper rotational alignment as you squat, snatch, or run there is no avoiding static position in some plane of movement at the hip. Take this hour to see just how free to move you can become while alleviating restrictions. After all, it’s all in the hips.

Lengthen the Spine

Spinal posture is something everyone has an issue with. No matter how hard we try to strengthen and stretch there always seems to be a struggle to achieve and maintain proper spinal posture. This is often due to muscular restrictions that cannot be addressed with stretching on your own. From the moment we are born we struggle to hold our head up, sit up, etc. These postural muscles almost never rest! By achieving more supple spinal muscles we also allow our vertebral joints relief of compression and the ability to rotate properly. Treat your neck and back to the flexibility and mobility you deserve for optimum spinal health.

Blades and Beyond

One of the most common complaints is of tightness in the upper back, traps, and shoulder blade areas. Most of us don’t realize just how many muscles are pulling on this area is different directions. This will be an hour of enlightenment for sure! Addressing the muscles that attach to the shoulder blades which includes muscles of the central upper back, neck, rotator cuff, and upper arm you are sure to enjoy increased comfort and range of motion. Though the pecs don’t attach to the blades we may even eliminate the restriction here as tight pecs pull the shoulders forward. We are taking it to the blades and beyond.

Armstrong

It seems most never think that their arms can use a good massage, but they can! We use our arms for all of our greeting and busy work needs. From waving hello to typing to the most strenuous of gripping activities, the muscles of the arms and hands are active. Give them a break and a treat by going Armstrong.

All in Your Head

Tension in the upper cervical, skull, and facial muscles can be debilitating. This can not only lead to stiffness in your neck but is a major contributor to headaches. Bearing the weight of the head and the stress of our constantly thought processing minds these tiny and intricate muscles are often first to respond. Whether overwhelmed with joy and smiling, shocked by unexpected news, or straining for the last rep, our limitless number of facial expressions take muscular activity to accomplish. Experience the release of these muscles to see its often all in your head.

Scar Tissue Mobilization

Muscle pulls and tears, ligament damage, and surgical procedures all produce scar tissue, varying in extent. Excess of scar tissue and location can cause significant reduction to comfort and range of motion, not to mention extend the time it takes to recover. This session targets the areas of scar tissue buildup and focuses on breaking it up to allow smooth, full range of motion to speed up the recovery process.

Anytime Compress and Stretch

Great for pre-workout, post-workout, or a rest day! One of two, one hour full body options. Just as it sounds, a compression and quick jostling of the muscles of our body accompanied by range of motion increasing stretches and techniques. No deep work here, just comfortable pressure rocking and swaying head to toe to feel loose limber and ready to go or rest and recover.

Post-Workout and Lactic Flush

The other one hour full body option and specific to post workout times,  this treatment is to encourage the flushing out of lactic acid and supply our muscles with fresh nutrient rich blood for rebuild and repair. It is no secret that strenuous activity causes the production of lactic acid and microtears in our muscles. Thinking of our muscles as sponges,  this compressive massage is designed to squeeze out the lactic acid and create a rush of fresh nutrient rich blood to rehydrate, rebuild, and repair accompanied by light mobilization and stretching.
